Vizhinjam Lighthouse in Kerala opens after a gap of two years.

Said to be one of the oldest lighthouses in the state and in the country, the Vizhinjam lighthouse is an iconic structure which is visited by a huge crowd of tourists every year.

The old lighthouse was reopened on May 1 and on the very first day, a long queue of visitors was seen flocking the gorgeous tower.

From the lighthouse, one can get amazing views of Thiruvananthapuram’s coast, and now that the covid cases are dipping, many of the tourist sites are finally reopening.

Once you reach the top of the lighthouse you will have mesmerizing views of Lighthouse Beach at Kovalam, Edakkallu rock formations and Eve’s Beach or Hawa Beach, to name a few.

As of now, only a limited number of tourists are allowed to go inside the lighthouse. The timings of the lighthouse include 10 AM to 12.45 PM and 2 PM to 5.45 PM. It is closed every Monday.
