Uttarkhand to host Butterfly Festival from June 04th.

As per the reports, this festival will feature butterfly, bird and moth watching, butterfly photography, and nature and heritage walk.

As bird tourism is now picking up pace in India, butterfly tourism is also slowly rising and what better place than Uttarakhand to witness this beauty as there will be the Himalayas in the background. Sitting in the lap of the mountain, this spot offers a number of wonderful adventures that one can experience once you visit here.

Referring to this festival, Arun Gour of Devalsari Environment Protection and Technology Development Society said this festival is organised by a village community-based organisation and stated that this is the third edition of this Utsav.

Although there are limited residential options, there is a number of bookings which has seen tourists visiting from domestic cities and from abroad. 

This festival is aimed at promoting community-oriented and nature-based tourism in the state, and that part of the revenue generated from it will go to local communities, whereas the rest will be diverted toward nature conservation. 

If reports are to go by, there are as many as 198 species of butterflies that have been identified in the area.
