However, one can visit Uttarkhand with strict rules that need to be followed some rules laid down by state government.
The inter-state travel to Uttarakhand comes with a set of rules where travellers coming to Uttarakhand should register on the Dehradun Smart City Website where they should provide contact details and particulars such as where they are travelling from and their place of stay.
They can also upload their medical documents including COVID-19 test results. When they arrive at the location, a hard copy of the documents should be provided to the officials at Dehradun.
Asymptomatic patients are required to mandatory undergo institutional quarantine if they are coming from the place which has a high number of COVID-19 positive cases. The institutional quarantine might be chosen by the traveller or should undergo free government facility. The institutional quarantine is also applicable for the Indian returning overseas and has transited through any airport of the city which has a high number of cases. They need to undergo institutional quarantine and 7 days compulsory home quarantine.
Those who need to self-quarantine include Pregnant Women, people aged over 65 years and those who are travelling with children aged 10 and below are required to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Uttarakhand residents who have travelled out of state and have stayed at the state for no more than 3 days are exempted from quarantine, also are the people who come to Uttarkhand on an emergency.
Some of the prominent people such as ministers of Government of India, Ministers in State Government, Chief Justices, Judges of Supreme and High Court, judicial officers from any other state in the country, law practitioners from state and local legislators, state or federal government employees are not required to quarantine.
People travelling on business which are essential to state such as construction, public works and also employees who are employed by the business running in Uttarkhand are also exempt from quarantine.
Restaurants, Hotels, Malls and Markets
The restaurants, malls and markets outside the containment zone are open. Now, these places can remain open longer than the previous time set by the government. For stay, all hotels outside containment zones can accommodate guests but the minimum stay of guests should be 7 days. Once the guests provide COVID-19 test results which are no longer than 72 hours is deemed fit to explore touristic sites of Uttarkhand.
Popular for Char Dham Yatra, Uttarkhand tourism has been heavily affected due to Lockdown. Now that the lockdown is eased, the state has started popular Char Dham yatra but its only available for residents of Uttarkhand. The temples of Uttarkhand will be open from 07:00 – 20:00 every day.
