Uttar Pradesh to soon have five international airports and it is said that it is one of the only states in India to have five airports.

Currently, 63 routes are assigned to Uttar Pradesh and with this, the state will now have much more connectivity which will be increased to 108.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently after inaugurating direct flights between Lucknow and Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Goa, informed that the state will also have five international airports in the coming time.

The Minister also added that Lucknow is now connected to Delhi with three flights, Bengaluru with two flights, Mumbai with one flight, Kolkata with one flight and Goa with one flight a day.

Under the UDAAN Scheme, Uttar Pradesh would soon have 18 airports in total which will require an investment of 1121 crore INR and the five international airports in itself be a landmark in the country.

Uttar Pradesh is a shining example of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and to achieve this, airports at Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Aligarh, Azamgarh and Shravasti apart from Jewar and Ayodhya are being constructed.

These new projects will help boost connectivity between Lucknow and the key cities in the country, which will further help promote tourism, trade and commerce in the region.
