As India is unlocking from coronavirus and travel has slowly begun, The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is now going to permit Tibetian Migrants to return to India from foreign countries and they can enter through any of the 107 immigration check posts.
The new rule comes after months of closing international borders which were announced by the PMO of India on March 23.
In their latest order, the MHA is permitting Tibetans who hold a valid certificate of Identity and return visa to enter India from foreign countries and also it has been stated that those returning can only do so if they have registered with Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
According to the order from FRRO, “Their Return Visa shall stand restored with immediate effect to facilitate their entry into India. However, if the validity of such visas has expired, they may obtain a fresh Return Visa from the Indian Missions/Posts concerned.”
The rule comes after foreign nationals from the USA, UK, Germany and France were allowed to enter India on business, medical, and employment purposes on August 7 and later in August foreign journalists and dependents were allowed to enter.
India has been slowly opening up the borders however apart from the countries which the air bubble has been finalized, no other international commercial flights are allowed to operate. Considering the case of coronavirus second wave expecting all over the world, it is probably better to not allow International commercial flights for a few more months.
