The beach destination and tropical weather of Thailand, one of the famous SE Asian country is now open for tourists from all countries. As per the reports, visitors will have to undergo a PCR Test and should quarantine mandatorily upon arrival, and will also have to apply for a travel visa.
Thailand had previously reopened its borders for tourists from all locations with valid work permits, residents, and those who have family there. Now, the government has announced that travelers from countries can visit and apply for a new tourist visa that is lasting up to 60 days.
As per the new scheme, all international visitors will be required to stay for up to 60 days however, will be required to self-isolate for 14 days at an alternative state quarantine hotel upon arrival.
Those who want to stay longer can apply for special tourist visas which will be available from low-risk countries. As a special tourist visa, the tourists will be allowed to stay for 90 days and this can be extended twice i.e, to a maximum of 9 months.
All traveling to the country will be required to provide a negative test result within 72 hours before arrival, along with a second test once they land. In case, if any traveler tests positive during the test he/she need to quarantine for 14 days in a state hospital. One must provide evidence of travel and medical insurance that will cover-19 for the length of the stay in the country.
The new visas are aimed at reviving tourism of Thailand which is one of the major contributors to the country’s GDP.
