My Journey to Madhya Pradesh started from Bangalore Airport and as always, my favourite way to start the trip is by having a favourite breakfast at the Above Ground Level Lounge in the domestic Terminal.
Trying out puliyogare ,South Indian Tamarind Rice and pav bhaji and kashmiri pulao to start my journey.
Madhya Pradesh is known for their Street food especially with an influence of Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisines as well and the cuisines of this Malwa region state is no exception. Some of the simple and mouth watering traditional dishes.
Both Vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine is available in abundance and each of the smaller region in Madhya Pradesh has its own signature dishes
The cuisine in Madhya Pradesh has a small tinge of Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisines. Earlier, Jowar was the most important cereal here. But now, Wheat is the staple food of Madhya Pradesh. The major share of the dishes in the state is vegetarian.The speciality of their cuisine here is the use of wheat and milk with various items. Here You will find traditional dishes that are hard to find outside Madhya Pradesh.

One of the traditional breakfast is power packed with Poha and most famously known as “pohe” in the malwa region, where they are considered to have originated. The lightly fried variety is a standard breakfast in malwa region of Madhya Pradesh.
One of the favourite street foods of India, Bread Pakora, and with Poha.It’s a perfect combo.
Gulab jamun and rosagulla is one of the most famous Indian desserts and i got to try it in Syn Heritage hotel in Khajuraho.
fish with lemon butter sauce with fresh steamed veggies and steamed rice for the non-vegetarians at Raja cafe which has a brilliant view of Khajuraho temples.

Poori in an interesting triangle size.it was crispy, golden deep-fried bread. Pooris are fried wheat bread, very common in Indian cuisine served for breakfast or with other meals.Pooris paired with aloo sabzi is blissful.
A plate of pohe is one of the simplest yet amazing breakfasts to can savour in Madhya Pradesh which is like a staple food in any household.It is Made with pressed rice, boiled potatoes and plenty of onions sautéed with a little tempering of mustard seeds, turmeric, green chillies, and jeera, finished off with a sprinkling of fresh coriander.
Overall, You have good amount of local and international dishes in most of the top cities or touristy places in Madhya Pradesh that can help you satiate your taste buds.
