Intercontinental Chennai holds a special place in my list of hotels as it has helped me host bloggers meet-up and I have written many blogs about my stay here at IC Chennai.
In these tough times, I made sure to provide a small helping hand for the recovering hotel industry where it was left high and dry with no tourists or visitors. Hence, I had been there to provide a staycation experience and also let my followers know about the safety and standard hygiene maintained here at InterContinental Chennai.
Hence, I set out the journey from Bengaluru to Chennai where on the route I checked how interstate travel works and then set out my journey towards IC Chennai.
Once I reached the destination, I was checked for the temperature at the entrance and then allowed inside. We were given a contactless Room Orientation with F&B Norms. Once arrived, we were provided immuno-booster drinks and a short video walkthrough of rooms and facilities available at the hotel location. Although it was not new for me, I checked it out with regards to the safety followed here and felt secure about my stay here without the worry of catching the deadly virus. The entire place is made sure to be sanitized regularly and they use industrial-grade sanitizers.
By the time I checked in, it was time for lunch and we had an option for In-room dining. The F&B norms are followed strictly here and we ordered lunch and it was provided with contactless delivery to the hotel room.
Post Lunch after leisure, we were provided with rest and rejuvenating experience at Spa where for 60 minutes I had Aura Cleansing Ritual/ 60 minutes therapy with foot reflexology therapy. After the spa session, it was leisure time and I was waiting for the dinner which was being served at Tao of Peng.
Tao of Peng is an in-house restaurant at IC Chennai and for the dish, we were provided with Chef Special dishes such as Dimsum Art & Dessert Art which were specially designed by the head chef. It was a truly immersive experience with the food provided here and to say all the dishes sounded picturesque and were equally tasty.
Winding off my day 1 of the stay at IC Chennai I was looking forward to my Day 2 of stay here.
Day 2 of my stay at IC Chennai began early with fitness in mind where we were taken to a fitness center and I exercised. I also did a morning run at Garden and beach which made me sweat. Running on the beach is surely difficult than running on the roads and I was sweating profusely and that is good. It was the time of breakfast and following F&B norms I was provided breakfast in the room.
It was a day of leisure as after breakfast I rested, once rested It was lunchtime where I had a health-friendly thali at The Melting Pot an in-house restaurant, and explored the hotel and nearby places. It was soon dinner time and was provided dinner at KoKoMMo another in-house restaurant at IC Chennai.
At KoKoMMo we were showcased about different foods provided which included fresh catch of the day and many others. It was a learning experience for me and on the last and final day of my stay here, I had an amazing stay experience.
Day 3 and final day I departed back to my home at Bengaluru and these 2 days stay at IC Chennai was amazing where all the staff and hotel authorities were following Covid-19 safety protocols, maintaining social distancing and usage of masks was compulsory at public places or where people gather the most.
