To recover from the impact of covid19, the Rajasthan government will be organising a folk art festival to revive tourism and as per the reports, these festivals will help conserve the arts and culture of different regions of the state and work toward uplifting artists.
The state of Rajasthan has 22 types of folk festivals that the state government is planning to host from the panchayat to the state level.
The government is spending around INR 27 crore to make this festival a grand success where the tourism department will be preparing a detailed plan and cultural competitions.
The Rajasthan folk art festival organised from the panchayat to the state level will increase the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists in the state. Major local tourist places would be selected on priority for organising the festival, said an official.
The platform will be dedicated to folk artists who suffered a lot during the covid period and also the festival acts as a protection of folk arts and culture from different regions of Rajasthan.
For this, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has even directed officials to prepare the plan at the earliest.
The Minister added that most tourists visit places like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, Alwar, Jodhpur, and Sawai Madhopur, along with many other unexplored tourist sites in other districts where there is a huge potential to promote tourism, will be highlighted.
The festival is planned in such a manner that all such destinations can be prominently highlighted among tourists so that they have new choices for planning their trips and spending a few more days in Rajasthan.
