One of the latest countries to ban flights to and from the UK is the exotic Islands of the Philippines. The travel ban will enforce restrictions on tourists coming over from the UK and the flights won’t be allowed until the second week of January in the Philippines reported a leading newspaper.
The onset of the new coronavirus strain in the UK which has the capability to transfer about 70% more than the strain discovered in China has shocked the world where many countries including India have restricted travel movement from the UK.
In a bid to restrict the spread of the new coronavirus strain, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday extended the ban on all flights from the UK and it is the latest country to announce the restrictions.
Rodrigo Duterte allowed the recommendation of Presidential spokesperson Harry Rogue Jr to extend the ban during a special cabinet meeting reported the newspaper.
The president also approved the recommendation of the Department of Health to quarantine travelers from the countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia where the new strain of coronavirus has been detected.
World Health Organisation (WHO) informed that the new strain of the virus has been detected in eight European countries and advised the countries to boost the protective measures like distancing/masks/staying in core support bubbles.
