Now PIO and OCI cardholders can travel to India

India eases travel restrictions where now all PIO and OCI cardholders as well as foreign travelers can visit India for any purpose except Tourist Visa and all of the travelers can enter India via permitted Air and water routes and go through airport and seaport immigration services. This is the recent announcement from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The recent announcement also includes flights that are operated under the Air Travel Bubble arrangement and the Vande Bharat Mission or by any non-scheduled commercial flights that are allowed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. But people who are traveling on these routes should strictly adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

And as per reports, the government plans to restore with immediate effect all existing visas excluding Tourist Visa, electronic visa, and Medical Visa. And as per reports, foreign nationals who are intending to visit India for medical purposes can apply for a Medical visa which also applies for medical attendants.

If the validity of the visa expires then the traveler can apply for a fresh visa in appropriate categories which can be obtained from India Mission/Posts.

The latest decision will enable foreign nationals to travel to India for various purposes, such as studies, business, employment, conferences, employment, medical, and research purposes, etc and it comes with the government decision to relax visa restrictions for Indian and Foreign Nationals who plan to visit India or exit India.
