Motorola One Macro review

With competition for budget smartphones rising, we are noticing many phone brands releasing phones with great specifications with a budget that fits the common man. The latest one to join the bandwagon is Motorola One Macro.

Lenovo’s Motorola has recently released a mid-range smartphone called Motorola One Macro. This is a camera-centric smartphone of the Motorola One series, others being Motorola One Power, Motorola One Action and Motorola One Vision. The main attraction of the device is its dedicated 2MP macro lens situated at the back which lets the users take pictures up to 5times closer to the subject.  The smartphone is priced just under 10,000.

The phone has 2MP macro camera with f/2.0 aperture, pixel size of 1.12-micron, 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, pixel size of 1.12-micron and 2MP depth camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.75-micron at the back. The front camera is of 8MP with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12-micron. The phone weighs 186g which does not feel hefty while using. The back panel is glossy finish and smudges also masks very well.  The front panel has teardrop cut at the top. The display is 6.20inches with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels and has a density of 270PPI.

Motorola One Macro is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie and has non-removable 4000mAh battery which supports fast charging. Running on 4GB RAM, the phone has an internal memory of 64G B and expandable up to 512GB via external storage.  The phone is a dual sim that supports Nano Sim and Nano Sim Cards.

Coming to connectivity that this phone offers, the phone has 4dG LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, LTEPP, SUPL, GLONASS, Galileo, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port,  3G, and active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The Motorola One Macro measures 157.60 x 75.41 x 8.99mm (height x width x thickness). It bears a plastic body and comes with Space Blue colour.
