Maharasthra’s Kaas Plateau will soon be an all-season tourist destination.

A very popular tourist destination in Maharashtra, the Kaas plateau opens in the month of September and October every year when the entire plateau gets covered in wildflowers.

Located in Satara District, Kaas Plateau is every photographer’s delight where this region experiences pleasant weather and during the flowering season, there will be a huge inflow of tourists. However, post the flowering season, the region will be all left alone, but this is soon set to be changed.

Keeping this in mind, the district administration of Satara has come up with plans to promote the Kaas plateau as an all-season tourist destination.

The authorities will be setting up photoshoots and selfie points for tourists who can now visit Kaas anytime and enjoy the scenic beauty.

At present, when it is off-season, people do come for activities like pre-and-post-wedding shoots but the destination is still under-advertised.

Additionally, the administration is also planning to establish Umed Abhiyan, where women from the local self-help groups can come and put their manufactured products on display.

Kaas has more than 850 species of flowering plants that come to life, especially after the monsoons. Though the plateau is made up of volcanic rocks and is also called Kaas Pathar because of its rocky features, it still supports many varieties of plants.
