Australia Destination Gold Coast Stay

Luxury 5 Star Stay at the Star Gold Coast | #MacroTraveller

The Star Gold Coast is located in the heart of one of Australia’s most vibrant and exciting cities. Offering nearly 300 days of sunshine each year, the region’s unique and diverse experiences make it a destination like no other – a place where the imagination ignites. The Star is 30 minutes from Gold Coast Airport and 90 minutes from Brisbane Airport. I enjoyed the hotel’s location, within walking distance of many restaurants, beach, convention center, a tram stop, etc. The Star Gold Coast offers almost 600 newly refurbished rooms. An opulent Penthouse, lavish suites boasting spacious outdoor terraces, Executive Deluxe Rooms and Superior Deluxe Rooms. A luxurious poolside experience offers the ultimate in relaxation.

The hotel is beautiful, looks like it was recently renovated; the rooms are excellent and comfortable. The rooms have been refurbished and very elegant. The rooms are spacious and well established. Large TV screen, comfortable bed and an incredible bathroom (no bathtub, only a shower). Also, there were none of the usual items in the bathroom (toothbrush, comb, etc.). The beds were extremely comfortable, with a choice of pillows. The room includes a Nespresso pod that was great, L’Occitane bath products and free WIFI. I loved their clothes, selection of pillows and automatic blinds.

The pool and gardens are lovely, with lots of space, beds, cabins, etc. The pool area is magical, the atmosphere with lighting, a perfect place to visit on a Friday or Saturday night for drinks and music. The garden bar was excellent. A bit expensive and there was not much choice to eat there, but beautiful and relaxing to sit at picnic tables. A delicious and extensive a la carte menu is available throughout the day at the poolside bar, which also includes a selection of cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits. The casino is always packed good fun for excitement and bingo. The Casino and the hotel are great places for a fun short vacation. The service in the restaurants and bars is excellent, and the rooms are reasonable. The hotel has a lot of various areas where you can have a drink, so depending on what you are looking for you should find something that suits you.

I had fabulous meals at the restaurants- dinners at Mei Wei Dumplings and oh my gosh the healthiest restaurant experience and food I have ever had at Kiyomi! Kiyomi has the best drinks and tapas! With a name that translates to ‘delicious,’ Mei Wei Dumplings has fast become a crowd favorite. Kiyomi celebrates shared dining and features an ‘Izakaya-style’ menu. The name Kiyomi (a rare Japanese citrus fruit, a hybrid of mandarin and sweet orange) exhibits both the creative blend of Japanese and Australian flavors as well as the extensive use of fresh, citrus flavors throughout the menu.

ATRIUM BAR – The Star’s iconic Atrium Bar is a Gold Coast institution, famous for offering incredible atmosphere. Having recently undergone a spectacular transformation, the Atrium Bar provides the wow-factor. Enhanced by an extensive selection of cocktails, local and imported beers, wines and spirits all served from the striking new-look bar.

They have a good breakfast selection with a bar of fresh juices and boiled eggs on request. I had my daily buffet breakfast at Food Fantasy which was also top notch. There are many food options with a lot of restaurants, I tried 2 and very hugely impressed. The garden restaurant was average, while the MG ‘Café’ was much better. Prices are reasonable in both.

The Pavilion Convention Centre houses one of the largest convention spaces of any hotel in Australia. The Ballroom with its 1627.5 square meters of pillar-less conference space can quickly be transformed to suit any style of event, from a spectacular cocktail party for up to 1800 guests, to a decadent banquet for up to 1100. The Star Gold Coast is the perfect place to host intimate gatherings, executive board meetings, conferences, and exhibitions.

I found the service to be quite excellent in general, the friendly staff, answered all our questions and helped me as much as they could, which I appreciated very much. Our overall experience was five stars in terms of staff, service, location, and value for money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience on the coast and with excellent links to Pacific Fair and the Broadbeach.
