The UT of Ladakh is organising a two-day festival known as Ladakh Zanskar Festival which is held on September 15th and 16th. This festival is aimed to showcase the beauty of the Zanskar region located in the Kargil region.
This would be the sixth annual two-day festival which is being held in order to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence and is called Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
This mega event will be held by the Ladakh Academy of Arts, Culture, and Languages in Kargil.
This also is a perfect and wonderful opportunity to explore the beautiful Zanskar Region.
Traditional archery competitions, musical nights, traditional horse riding, and cultural events, among other attractions, will be some of the events that will be held here at the festival.
Known for its picturesque valley, snowcapped mountain and climate Zanskar Valley is one of the relatively unexplored regions in the Union territory of Ladakh. Located just 105kms from Leh, this place is known for adventure activities.
Zongla, Zongkhul, and Strongdey are some of the monasteries which you can find here.
September is known to be the best time to visit Zanskar Valley as winters here is harsh and temperatures can dip to below 30C. Additionally, the roads will be covered in snow which makes it difficult to travel during winters.
