If you have watched Glass Skywalk in China and many other places and you are thinking of planning your visit there, then, fret not as India also has a new glass skywalk that is opened.
The glass skywalk has been named in Sikkim’s Pelling and it is opposite to the 137ft tall statue of Chenrezig and is located amidst the magnificent Himalayan mountain range.
The Sikkim Skywalk is the first skywalk in India and has been built so that there is a wonderful view of the Himalayan Mountain Range and the Chenrezig statue. The skywalk has stairs leading to the statue and has a prayer wheel on each side.
The glass skywalk allows you to view several thousand feet in the air and you get to view whats is everything down the mountain. The walkway is not for the faint-hearted and also for people suffering from vertigo effect.
If you want to walk on this glass skywalk then it is located 2.5 km from Pelling and costs about INR 50 per tourist. It is open from 8 AM to 5 PM and you just need to hold on to the railing and walk, even walking across this will make your heart pound and you can take a photo here. Also, along with lovely views of the Himalayas, one can even view the majestic Teesta and Rangit rivers flowing nearby.
