Recently, India had announced that they would allow entry of OCI cardholders only if their immediate family members are in India. And now The MHA of India announced the changes were every OCI cardholders can enter into India that includes the cardholders coming in from countries such as the UK, US, Germany and France and these are the countries that are part of travel bubbles for India.
On August 7, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced that from the countries of the UK, US, France and Germany which the Air Bubbles have been finalised can enter India. That applies to OCI cardholders as of now. Additionally, any foreigners who want to enter India can obtain a visa for Business, Medical and Employment purpose and also, the website states that Indians who wish to travel to these specific countries are also allowed to do so.
Before the new rules, the MHA had allowed the entry of OCI Card Holders with certain conditions and it includes certain OCI cardholders which include minors, students, OCI cardholder spouses of Indian National and those who require to travel within India on emergency conditions.
