It is bad news for people who want to visit the UK to celebrate Christmas and ring in the new year 2021 as The Government of India announced that it will cancel all the flights to and from the United Kingdom starting from 00:00hrs on 23rd December till 31st of December, 2020 as the more deadly mutated version of coronavirus which is capable to transmit over 70% than the original strain.
Speaking about this, the Ministry of Civil Aviation read that the government has decided to temporarily suspend all flights to and from the UK to India from December 22, 23:59 hrs till December 31, 2020.
In order to take a further precaution, the Government of India has decided to put all passengers arriving from the UK to India in a transit flight and they should mandatorily undergo an RT-PCR test.
Currently, Air India and Vistara have been operating flights from Delhi to London and vice versa.
Apart from India, the countries that have banned flight and other modes of transport with the UK are
Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Switzerland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and El Salvador have banned all modes of transportation with the UK.
