Hong Kong starts ‘Cruise to Nowhere and is now back to tourism circuit

One of the popular tourist destinations in East Asia, Hong Kong is back on the tourism circuit where it is offering ‘Cruise to Nowhere’ and is keen to revive tourism. Apart from this, Staycation at Sea and Holiday at Home are some more popular conventional cruise-related holiday which HK is offering to its visitors. However, keep a note that these are being offered to the fully-vaccinated travelers and those who are keen on going on a holiday.

YK Pang, Hong Kong Tourism Board Chairman said that these vacation initiatives will be introduced to tourists from different countries and mainland China once the travel ban of these countries is lifted. Sea cruises are part of Hong Kong Tourism and once these restarts, tourism will gradually help in reviving the economy.

Speaking about this, the chairman said, “The resumption of high-sea cruises is the first step to the recovery of the cruise sector. Therefore, the HKTB will first promote the experience of ‘Staycation at Sea’ in Hong Kong under the ‘Holiday at Home’ platform. At the same time, we will also communicate to consumers the newly established safety and hygiene protocol as well as the anti-epidemic measures adopted by cruise lines to rebuild visitors’ confidence in traveling on cruises.”

The concept of Cruise to Nowhere began last year and Singapore was one of the first countries to experiment. These cruises offer passengers to stay safe while travel on board as well as has a vacation feel. One needs to take the RT-PCR test which is mandatory if they want to step a foot on board and also the cruise operator should follow a specific number of people for entry to follow social distancing measures on board.
