The government eased its travel restrictions and has aimed towards 4.5% growth this year. Travelers belonging to Europe holding European Vaccination passports will now not be required to undergo Covid-19 tests before entering the country of Greece. This rule will be applicable starting next week, said Greek Health Minister Thanos Plevris.
“As of Monday, those with active European (vaccination) certificates will enter without obligatory testing.” Said the minister in a televised statement.

Tourism minister, Vassilis Kikilias, said that the country is already preparing to welcome tourists starting March 01. Greece is one of the important historical destinations that offer unique experiences and give a taste of the Mediterranean. Greece largely banks on tourism which accounts for a quarter of its economy.
The minister also expects a record in cruise ship arrivals this year.Ā
