While the coronavirus is still reeling in the country and travel is affected, newer measures have been undertaken by travel organisations and companies which will be all set to welcome tourists once lockdown is eased. Air travel has been deeply affected by Coronavirus lockdown measures that many airline companies have grounded several fleets of planes for months now. One of the airline company Go-Air where I have travelled to many destinations recently has introduced a new campaign which is best to follow social distancing while travelling is Go-More.
Go-More is the concept by Go-Air where the passengers can opt to block the seat nearby where one can follow Social Distancing even while flying.
Apart from following Social Distancing in flight, Go-Air has taken extra safety precautionary steps to ensure safety of the crew and passengers. With the concept We-Care from Go-Air, the company is following the safety guidelines provided by Governments. At the airport, they allow proper social distancing measures, regular disinfestations of touchpoints that include check-in counter, kiosks, gate counters, baggage drop counters etc. Maintain social distance while check-in, boarding and inside the coaches etc.
In-flight the safety measures followed include:
- a) Protective Gear
All the staff and crew members of Go-Air will be using PPE equipment, will be using sanitizers and will be in glove for safety purpose.
- b) Sanitization of Aircraft
each aircraft will be sanitized before every flight using EPA approved hospital-grade disinfectants. Passenger seats, seat belt buckles, armrests, overhead nozzles, tray tables, galleys and lavatories are thoroughly disinfected given the frequency of contact.
- c) HEPA Filters
Now that coronavirus is said to be airborne, the air circulation vents is needed to be extra careful, hence Go-Air will be using HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) grade filters will be adjusted in air ducts which will help to remove up to 99.99% of harmful airborne particles.
- d) Advanced air filtration
the cabin air flows vertically from ceiling to floor where it gets absorbed for filtration. This would help in minimizing of the spread of harmful viruses and bacteria.
