France eases border restrictions for unvaccinated UK Travellers.

This news is a massive relief for travelers from the UK, where France has eased border restrictions for UK travelers amid the rise of the Omicron variant. Starting January 14, vaccinated travelers would not need any reason to visit the country.

But the travelers who are visiting the country need to show a negative RT-PCR test that is not older than 24 hours before entering France and need to quarantine for 48 hours while another test is taken. This is applicable for vaccinated travelers. However, the rules are to be the same for unvaccinated travelers. However, under new measures, the provision of self-isolation will be removed.

The Prime Minister of France said where the statement said that the Omicron variant is widely spread in both nations; hence there is no requirement of travel curbs In both countries. The tourism of France is looking for a boost, and the pandemic has adversely affected the same.

As per the World Travel and Tourism Council, France is one of the biggest markets for UK tourists. According to the reports, UK Residents account for over 14 percent of visits to the country, and international tourists spend around $68.8 billion a year before the pandemic had begun.

The news comes as a significant relief for UK nationals who plan to visit France in the coming weeks. Apparently, on December 18, 2021, France had banned tourists with strict COVID-19 restrictions amid the Omicron scare.
