One of the prominent tourist destinations in Darjeeling is the toy train. Launched in 1881, this train lures tourists from far and wide and is on the travel list of people across the world.
As part of November festivities, the DHR has announced that the Darjeeling toy train will continue to run post-sundown through the same route for the first time in history.
It’s expected that the special evening train will boost the upcoming celebrations as well as the heritage train among tourists.
The Darjeeling toy train will run in the evenings every Saturday and Sunday from 12 November 2022 to 4 December 2022.
During these days, the Ghoom Festival will be celebrated, and while the festivities will run throughout the week, one can expect big crowds and more events on weekends.
The good news among travellers is the tickets for the night train will be the same where the First Class fare for diesel engines will be INR 1000 while those for steam engines will be INR 1500.
The tickets can be easily booked at the Darjeeling railway station or on the IRCTC website.
