Dubai’s leading airlines, Emirates and Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways have partnered with International Air Transport Association to introduce travel passes for passengers who have been cured or tested negative for Covid-19.
The IATA travel pass will be offered on select flights from Abu Dhabi said Etihad airways on Tuesday and the carrier will be extending its pass to other destinations if the trial run is found successful.
This travel pass will keep passengers in control of their data and facilitate by sharing their test results with airlines and authorities for travel said Etihad.
On the other hand, Emirates one of the leading airline services will begin implementing this from April to validate Covid-19 test results from the flights departing from Dubai.
The UAE has already administered over 2 million vaccine doses and has the second-highest rate of inoculations after Israel.
Before this, Singapore Airlines has started trials of the new digital verification process bases on the IATA travel pass framework.
