Dubai makes RT-PCR test mandatory 48 hours before travel

Dubai, one of the popular tourist locations has now set new rules for travelers where they need to include RT-PCR test reports within 48 hours before departure. This comes as a fact that there are rising coronavirus cases all around the world and up until now, the test should be done 72 hours before departure. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has decreased the results taken by 24 hours.

The new rule is going to be implemented from April 22 onwards.

Speaking about this, Air India Express updated Indian Travellers on the same where they mentioned “Effective April 22, 2021, all passengers traveling from India to Dubai Airport must hold a valid COVID-19 test certificate that is issued within 48 hours from the time of collecting the samples and also ensure the time of the sample collection (date and time) and time of reporting result (date and time) are accurate.”

All countries which have agreed to do travel bubble with Dubai have received the information for the same by DCAA. And the DCAA has also directed all inbound flights from India about the new rule and has asked each passenger to hold RT-PCR test results. The date of the test, time, and result date, and time must be mentioned in the report.

Passengers are also told that the test reports should be present in original form and the report must be approved by a Government Lab in India. Passengers visiting Dubai should download Covid-19 Dubai Smart App and generate a QR code before entering the country.
