Domestic flights in India would get costlier from June 01 as the Civil Aviation Minister raises the lower limit on flights. The lower limit on flights will be increased to 16% from 13%, however, the upper limit remains unchanged.
The aviation industry is one of the worst-hit sectors amid pandemic due to the lockdowns and blanket ban on international flights this travel sector has had the worst 2020 year. Domestic air travel has also been hit as many states have imposed lockdown where non-essential travel has been discouraged.
The flight price will be increased according to the duration of the flights and for example, if your flight duration is less than 40 minutes then the lower limit will be increased from 2300INR to 2600INR after the hike, if your flight duration is more than 40 minutes then the price will be hiked from 3300 INR from 2900 INR.
Furthermore, if your flight duration is between 60 to 90 minutes, the lower limit will increase from 3500 to 4000 INR; for the duration between 90-120 minutes, the lower limit will increase from 4100 to 4700 INR; for a duration between 120-150 minutes, the lower limit will increase from 5300 to 6100 INR, and so on.
This rule as said will start to be applicable from June 01, 2021 hence, plan your visit with safety precaution in place.
