China suspended visas of foreign countries as it faces the risk of imported coronavirus cases

On Friday, China said that it temporarily suspended visas from foreign countries such as India, the UK, and the Philippines as it faces the greater risk of imported cases of coronavirus.

In a statement provided by the Chinese embassy in New Delhi, it stated that China has temporarily suspended the entry of foreign nationals which includes India where valid visas and residential permit are suspended until further notice.

A spokesperson from the Chinese foreign ministry said “As the epidemic situation overseas is getting worse, China is facing greater risks of imported cases. In October, the number of imported cases grew by 45 percent compared with that in September.” where he justified the governmental decision.

He also continued saying “In the meantime, some domestic cases were also found. Under such circumstances, we have learned from other countries’ practices and further strengthened pre-departure prevention and control measures for travelers coming to China.”

With its sudden decision, the Vande Bharat Mission which is the mission which is bringing back stranded Indians to India has suddenly come to halt.

Mr. Wang also said that the Covid-19 nucleic acid test is not 100% accurate and it cannot be tested at present. “The pre-departure nucleic acid testing for China-bound travelers has been essential in preventing epidemic importation. However, none of the existing test methods can be 100 percent accurate at the moment,” said Mr. Wang. Suggesting the travel he mentioned that it is better to take direct flights instead of transiting through the different routes.
