Britain tourists might be barred to enter the EU from January 01

There have been rumors and speculation that British tourists might be barred from visiting European Union countries from January 01. This is all when the travel rules of the EU will cease to exist for UK citizens additionally, Covid-19 restrictions will also block entry to the visitors. The year 2021 will also be a change as it signals the end of unrestricted travel to the EU which was a privilege for Britons to visit the idyllic locations of the European Union.

Also, only essential travels will be allowed to tourists from January 01 and the countries where covid-19 cases are low will be allowing people for non-essential travels. Currently, only 8 countries have approved for free travel and these countries have low infection rates. However, they are in no mood of adding the UK to the list.

UK’s foreign secretary Dominic Raab spoke to a leading daily stating “restrictions on travel, inevitably, is going to be something that’s kept under review”.

One of the ways out of this deadlock is the ongoing conversion of trade deals and chances of a trade corridor between the UK and EU. These restrictions might have huge implications on both the UK and EU as both of them are dependent on travel. The restriction might decrease the travel of tourists from these 2 locations.
