Boracay: A Tropical Paradise | #MacroTraveller

The small island of Boracay has everything; pearly white beaches, crystal clear water, fresh mango smoothies, surf and dive spots and a good nightlife! Discover Boracay yourself with MacroTraveller.

One of the islands that you should see is the paradise Boracay Island. Those who love water will have the time of their lives here. Boracay Island is the perfect place for diving, snorkeling, surfing, and supping. A vibrant nightlife awaits you in the evening. There are more and more hotels and resorts on Boracay, which not everyone is happy with, but the beauty of the island is more than good. The sunset from White Beach is a must!

Although the island of Boracay with a length of 7 km and, on the narrowest spot, 1 km width is on the small side, Boracay is the perfect destination for a relaxed and adventurous journey. Boracay is located about 315 km south of Manila and less than 2 km northwest of the island of Panay in the Philippines. We understand very well why the island of Boracay with its beautiful beaches has won so many awards from several travel publications. Boracay is a true paradise!

Beaches of Boracay!

The kilometer-long White Beach is the beach where most tourists can be found. The pearly white sand, turquoise water and floating palm trees have resulted in many awards. In 2015 it was named by TripAdvisor as the number one beach in Asia. Along the beach, there are hotels, resorts, souvenir shops and many bars. White Beach can be divided into three ‘stations.’ Station 1 is where the most expensive hotels and resorts are located. The second station is the busiest. Here most people come to eat or shop. If you go further south, you reach the third and quietest station.

On the east side of Boracay, you will find Bulabog Beach. This beach is a real hotspot for windsurfers and kiteboarders thanks to the high waves and strong winds. Bulabog Beach has considered one of the best kitesurf spots in Asia!

Activities on Boracay!

If you want something other than sunbathing, there is plenty to do on the island of Boracay! On Boracay, you will find more than 25 dive spots, for both inexperienced and professionals. If you prefer to stay above water, you can also do parasailing, water skiing and kite surfing here. For the real daredevils, it is also possible to dive here.

After a day under or above water, it is time for a nice massage with a snack and a drink. I advise you to visit Hobbit House, located on station 2. Choose one of the delicious pasta dishes and let dwarfs serve you! To make the evening longer, you dive into one of the many bars. The nightlife on Boracay continues until the early hours!

Travel to and on Boracay!

The only way to travel to Boracay is by boat. From Caticlan on the island of Panay, it is only a 5-minute boat ride. Fortunately, Panay can be reached by plane. Traveling on Boracay is done on foot or by bicycle taxi.
