Dwijing Festival is a 12-day festival that is held in Bodoland, an autonomous region in Assam. During Dwijing Festival we get to witness many events, attractions and shows. One such event which grabbed my attention is art installations. One such art installation that can be witnessed in Dwijing Festival is ‘The Blurred Parameter’ by Wahida Ahmed. Wahida Ahmed is an art curator who belongs to Assam. She holds a diploma in fine arts and is one of the famous art curators from North East. She began exhibiting her art to the public since 2005 and has been growing exponentially ever since.
The art showcased by Wahida has inspired the festive organisers of Dwijing Festival which is where the project ‘The Blurred Parameter’ was born. The Blurred Parameter along with a team of artists from the North East, Wahida Ahmed showcased the visitors the richness of state where she showcased fine arts using properties such as Bamboo, sand, hay and thread. The art installation brings out the richness of the states of the North East which is not mostly explored. “The idea behind the concept of Blurred Perimeters is blurring all the perimeters like caste, creed, language, community, geographical boundaries and inequalities existing in the society. It is an honest endeavour to erase or blur the differences and an effort to counter the growing culture of hatred and to unite people across the globe for the sake of humanity,” Wahida informs.
The art brings out the inner meaning when closely observed and it showcases the essence of the local and international daily chorus which might now be forgotten. Wahida and her team of artists who have been inspired by this have showcased many such arts which stand out while you visit Dwijing Festival.
