The southern part of India is known for its beaches, as we have the subcontinent that has 3 water bodies such as the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean one can expect a lot of beaches that lie on the subcontinent and it attracts lots of tourists every year. Although some of the beaches in India face the rough sea some places have the best waves where you can chill and enjoy the day trip to the beach.

Lining from east to west there are many such beaches which line the southern part of India which you can visit and soak in the warm waters and enjoy the waves.

  • Gokarna, Karnataka

Also the temple town, Gokarna has some of the best beaches with clean water and less rough seas. The beach is lined by White Sands which brings up the ante of the beaches here. Expect a number of shacks and homestays which one can notice during their visit and also the beaches here are famous for backpackers.

In Gokarna, Kudle and Om beach are easily accessible via road and they are filled with tourists during peak season. However, the beaches here are not filled to that compared to Goan beaches hence many people try to visit Gokarna to escape the touristic destination of Goa.

  • Tarkarli, MaharashtraSituated nearer to Goa, Tarkarli beach in Maharashtra lies in Southern end of the state. It is a great alternative for beach lovers as it has serene backwaters. The area around the beaches is amazing with a bustling village and serene forts which one can visit during their visit to this place.

Travellers here can also enjoy the water sports activity like parasailing, scuba diving, snorkelling at this beach where one can expect fewer crowds and do these activities with ease. If you have a mood to explore then you can visit the famous Sindhudurg Fort that is around 40 minutes drive from here and get to know the history of the region.

  • Radhanagar, Andaman & Nicobar IslandsTermed to be one of the best beaches in India, Radhanagar Beach is located in the Havelock Island of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Known as Beach #7, the beach is of close proximity to Thailand and is one of the best beaches to visit in the region.

The beach is beautiful for travellers and beach lovers where it has calm waters, a picturesque canopy of trees and beautiful white sands, you can enjoy adventure activities such as surfing, kayaking, sailing or simply sunbathe on the beach. The beach is lined by beautiful corals which you can visit and explore during Scuba Diving.

  • Minicoy, LakshadweepAn offbeat tourist destination and one of the best tourist destinations to visit are the Lakshadweep Islands. One needs to get the permit before getting into this Island, and if you are in luck you will be in paradise.

Having some of the best waters, serene coral reefs and most importantly, calm waters one needs to visit Lakshadweep Islands. And Minicoy beach at Southernmost Atoll. Many travellers visit here morning for snorkelling and diving to view the brilliant coral reefs.

  • Mandarmani, West Bengal

Located in the eastern part of the country, Mandarmani Beach in West Bengal is a secluded beach and is located around 4-hour drive from the capital, Kolkata. This was once a sleepy village but now has turned into a resort town due to its long stretch of beach and the population of red crabs.

Once here you can witness the beautiful sunrise and also capture picture-perfect places of Digha and Shankarpur beaches which you can experience on your visit to Mandarmani.
