Starwood Hotels is always known to celebrate food in style and Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru are no less.Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru organized a Bengali Food Festival. To kickstart the Food Festival,Top food bloggers from Bangalore were invited to experience the authentic Bengali Food.Being a Vegetarian, i was looking forward to the desserts and thankfully the special buffet did have more than maachi jhol and to spice the event. We also have Golgappa eating competition and Rosgulla eating competition too.
The DIY Golgappa competition was fun as we literally had to make them in 1 minute and trust me it was a tedious task and i could manage just 9 of them, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Buffet was set with Lemon coriander & chicken soup and Corn Chowder. The soup had the right flavors of coriander and lemon oozing out.The STARTER that was set up was Black Pepper Chicken and Til ki tikki and the regular affair of salads such as Cole slaw salad,Kachumber salad,Tabuleh salad,Smoked fish with artichoke and asparagus,Spicy chicken sausage salad.
The Main Course had a good spread with Aloo diye manso and almost authentic Maccher jhol,Murgi kasha,Nariyal diye cholar dal which was the special dishes for the occasion.Doi begun,Aloo dum,Laal saag bhaja,Paneer dalna and Subz dum biryani was my star of the day which was pretty flavorful and just loved it that i had 2 helpings of it.The luchi also were pretty good with the right accompaniment.
Bengali Food festival without desserts is like a blogger with a blog. When there is Bengali food, The Bengali desserts are Bengali pakeeja,Chane payesh,Mishti doi,Kamla bhog,Rosgullas.Other desserts that were available was Strawberry gateaux,Chocolate roulade,Fruit tart,Cham cham.
Too Maach Bengali Food Festival is available from March 11th to March 22nd at Four Points by Sheraton, Whitefield from 7 pm to 11 pm and priced at Rs 749+ tax per head.
