Astanmarg is the new paragliding destination in India

With an aim to promote tourism in Kashmir, the department of tourism, Kashmir along with a paragliding firm launched adventure paragliding in the state. 

Located in the outskirts of Srinagar, the paragliding begins at the top of Astanmarg to the Chandopora Ground. This covers a vertical drop of 2000 ft and is an adrenaline-filled adventure.

Tourists who want to have this adventure experience can book online and report at Harwan garden which is a 15 minutes drive to the Astanmarg. This is perched at 7400ft above sea level.

The experts briefed about the gear and safety instructions, post which the gliders can take a flight of 12 to 15 minutes. The landing spot is Chandpora, Srinagar located at 1615 meters/5330 feet.

The view includes snow-covered mountain ranges and many tourist attractions such as Dal Lake, Dachigam National Park, Mahadev Peak and Mughal Gardens.
