Thailand has recently seen fewer covid cases and has decided to lower the travel curbs and boost their economy, said its health minister on Tuesday. This is in response to the lower infection rate.
Among the measures, the government is considering establishing more âsandboxâ areas for its tourists where travelers can skip quarantine if they stay in specific areas for seven days and undergo two covid-19 tests.
Nightlife, Pubs, and Bars will be closed; however, Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said that the covid-19 alert level would be lowered from Level 4 to Level 3 on the governmentâs Level 5 scale.
Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Khon Kaen, and Samut Prakan provinces could be included in the new sandbox program, said the minister.
Currently, Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, and Koh Samui have adopted the Sandbox Program and helped rebuild Thailandâs tourism sector.
The minister also proposed the âTest and Goâ scheme that allows tourists for free movement who pass one covid19 tests upon arrival.
