American Airlines Group Inc said that it would be reducing its flights from major US airports to London next month due to low demand and thus damping hopes that the holiday season will facilitate recovery in travel.
The airline will be temporarily discounting the flights to London from New York, Chicago, North Carolina in the month of December however, passengers can still travel to London via its partner British Airways from Orlando and New York.
“We’re constantly evaluating our network to match supply and demand and have been making regular schedule adjustments since March,” a spokesperson said in an emailed statement Sunday. “In an effort to match low demand resulting from coronavirus, we continue to operate a reduced schedule.”
American Airlines’ daily passenger service to London is set to resume from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport and the schedule will be 3 times a week from Charlotte starting January 06.
Further, President Donald J Trump also expressed his opinion to optimize Pfizer Inc. Covid-19 vaccination and will soon be granted emergency use authorization which will boost airline stocks in post-market trading.
