The Uttarakhand Government has asked pilgrims travelling for Char Dham Yatra to make sure that they register themselves to undertake the Yatra. The government has said that the registration is mandatory and pilgrims who have not registered would be stopped at Rishikesh.
Referring to this, Dilip Jawalkar, Principal Secretary – Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand has said that the number of pilgrims visiting Char Dham would be kept at a minimum keeping in mind the safety of the pilgrims. This process will also come in handy if every pilgrim starts his journey only after getting themselves registered to avoid inconvenience at a later stage
Pilgrims should come to the Yatra as per the dates allocated during the registration and only after registration, tourists can book the hotel and other bookings.
The tourism ministry also said that the pilgrims should follow health advisory and has also asked tourists need a full checkup before the yatra as the weather conditions and the tough terrain can pose a challenge.
Char Dhams, sit at a height above 2700 m above sea level, and pilgrims might face various health issues, such as low oxygen levels, excess ultraviolet radiation, and others; thus, health check-up is advisable.
