Abu Dhabi is offering Covid-19 vaccine for free to tourists

United Arab Emirates capital, Abu Dhabi is offering the free covid-19 vaccine to its tourists which was once restricted to citizens of the UAE and residency visa holders. However, it is still not clear if other cities including Dubai is offering the vaccine for free.

According to Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), tourists arriving in the country via Abu Dhabi can book their vaccine slot and visitors who are having visas issued by Abu Dhabi and those who have eligible passports can take the vaccine jab for free.

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company is offering China’s Sinopharm and Pfizer/BioNTech in vaccines in Abu Dhabi. Holders of expired or entry visas are also eligible to get free vaccine said the Health Services Company.

In the previous month, the UAE saw the peak in cases of coronavirus thus restricting entry for tourists, mandatory RT-PCR testing and quarantine was made for tourists entering the country. But now, the country is open for tourists from 27 countries including the US, China and Germany to enter without quarantine.

The free vaccine programme is not extended to Dubai as the Dubai health authorities have said that vaccine will be provided to the citizens of Dubai and holders of Dubai residency visas only.

Reports have suggested that nearly 85% of the UAE population have received at least 1 dose of vaccine against coronavirus.
